2017 Juried Exhibition – CANADA 150

A Celebration of Canada 150th Anniversary through its Native and Indigenous plants.  The Botanical Artists of Canada is presenting a Juried Botanical Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings depicting native and indigenous plants of Canada.  The exhibition will celebrate the existence, beauty, uniqueness and diversity of Canada’s native and indigenous plants (including fungi); connect people with plants and botanical art through the artist’s creative expression; and inform the public of how our native plants sustain our lives, our habitat and the natural world.

Exhibition dates: July 5 to 26, 2017

Venue: Robert Langen Art Gallery, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario

For the 2017 BAC Exhibition, a plant which is native or indigenous to Canada is defined as "A plant (including fungi) that originates or occurs naturally without direct or indirect human intervention within the geographical borders of Canada."

ART of the Plant (May 2018) – Call for Entries

A botanical art juried exhibition featuring native plants of Canada opening May 2018 at the Canadian Museum of Nature: Stonewall Gallery, Ottawa

This is a ground-breaking opportunity to put the best of Canadian botanical art on the national and international stage.  The exhibition will be presented in the Canadian Museum of Nature's Stone Wall Gallery, a beautiful space with high traffic flow.  The work will be hung on the original stone walls of the museum which dates from its construction in 1905 -1910. Last year the museum received almost 1/2 million visitors!

Exhibition Opening:  May 2018

Eligibility:  Open to Canadian members in good standing with the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and to members in good standing with Canada’s botanical art organizations:  Botanical Artists of Canada (BAC), Botanical Artists Guild of Southern Alberta (BAGSA), Botanical Artists of Nova Scotia (BANSA), Botanical Art Society of Newfoundland (BASNL) and the Ottawa Society of Botanical Artists (OSBA).
